Please read the following information thoroughly before undergoing your thigh lift. We encourage you to ask any questions regarding anything you might find unclear. There is no such thing as an unnecessary question.

Successful and sustained massive weight loss can lead to extensive redundancy of skin in the inner thigh area. Following significant weight loss, there is often failure of the stretched skin to tighten up. Constant rubbing together of the inner thigh folds predisposes to areas of skin irritation and infection and interferes with personal hygiene.

Restoring the normal contour of many body areas following weight loss often requires removal or tailoring of the remaining skin. Especially true for the abdomen, arms, and thighs, the restoration of the contours of those areas often requires the excision of large amounts of skin.

In certain cases liposuction is also performed, but it cannot replace a thigh lift if there is redundant skin. For many people circumferential thigh liposuction does a great job in reducing large thighs. While this procedure doesn't always result in perfectly smooth thighs, they are much smaller.

The Surgery

A thigh lift involves removal of redundant thigh tissue using incisions that parallel the groin crease. It is usually performed on the inner surface of the thighs but can include the outer thigh area and buttocks if indicated.
